Whitby Folk Week Ticket Refund Policy and Information

Ticket Types

There are three types of ticket for Whitby Folk Week – season, day/weekend and event.

Season (season = all 7 days) and day/weekend tickets can be bought in advance (online or by post) or during the week. Individual event tickets are sold on the door from 10 minutes before the start of each event, space permitting. You cannot buy event tickets in advance. This is to give priority to season/weekend/day ticket holders if the event is busy. Note that some venues are cash only.

Season and day/weekend tickets are wristbands. You must always retain the wristband on your wrist during Whitby Folk Week. Your ticket will be invalidated if it is removed, altered, or defaced. If you have a specific allergy, let us know and we will order a wristband for you that does not contain the allergen. You must let us know at least 6 weeks before the start of the festival if this is the case.

Season and day/weekend tickets are available online until a few days before Whitby Folk Week. After this time they can be purchased in person from the Festival Office.

All ticket purchases are subject to availability.

Ticket Concessions

For season/day/weekend tickets there are junior, student and senior concessions. The concession applies to your age / status on the first day of Whitby Folk Week in the year of attendance. For individual event tickets junior is the only concession available.

Junior Tickets – 12-18 years old inclusive

Student tickets – require proof of full time education

Senior tickets – from state pension age and require proof of age

Under 12s go free in the company of a ticket holding adult (unless specified in the programme). Please notify us that they are in your group if you are camping so we can account for them. There will be a small charge for children’s events to cover materials.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all performances and under 18 at any licensed bar area. Please note that some events are in public bars and as such their licensing requirements for under 18s must be adhered to at all times.
