We are delighted to announce that Melrose Quartet have agreed to join Eliza Carthy as Patrons of Whitby Folk Week; we very much look forward to their input over the coming years.
The other exciting news for Melrose Quartet is that they’ve just finished recording a new album, which should be released in the Spring and is to be called “Dominion”. They will of course have copies of it with them at Whitby Folk Week this year. Jess said “our first album, “50 verses”, was released in 2013 so it has been a while – but we think definitely worth the wait!”
We asked them a few question about Whitby Folk Week, the main one being what their first reaction was to becoming becoming patrons:
Jess – delighted and excited!
Richard – surprised and privileged.
James – honoured!
Nancy – grateful and inspired for the future.
